Epic Promises the Xbox Series X and PS 5 Consoles Will Deliver Movie-Quality Visuals
In his interview with PlayStation Official Magazine UK, Epic’s CTO Kim Liberi claims he expects the new-generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles to realize his lifelong dream of implementing movie-quality graphics in their games.
He says that the UE5’s Nanite technology will not only allow adding immersiveness and unprecedented visual detail, but also facilitate the use of all-new gameplay concepts that exploit the idea of dynamic lighting and environs, enhanced physics, advanced AI, and more deluxe multiplayer experiences.
The UE5 tech is already widely used in the movie production industry, with one such example being the Mandalorian series. Kim Liberi is confident that Xbox Series X and PS5 will be able to take advantage of the same top-quality assets to build real-time game settings.
We could see what these next-gen visuals may look like at Epic’s recent PS5 demo. Even though a tech demo is not a finished, playable product, and it may take a while before the technology finds its way in the game production business, this one looked impressive and left us all longing for more.
