Totally Accurate Battle Simulator Review: The Funniest Tactics

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is an ironic tactical game that imitates battles with clouds, protectors, spears, stones, and other ancient weapons. With MOBA elements and ragdoll physics, this game looks quite funny. Download Totally Accurate Battle Simulator for Windows, Mac, or Xbox and learn why!

Graphics 3/5

It would have looked primitive if it didn’t fit the game that much. Low-polygonal models of warriors with no faces look okay when you realize they need as much of it as chess figures. Classes are easy to tell. The battlefield is also poorly detailed. The pseudo-3D only utilizes two dimensions. But the overall feel is stupid and funny, as well as the gameplay. So the visuals may be poor, but it’s a part of the plan.

Gameplay 5/5

It’s a MOBA-like style where you deploy your warriors – as many of them as you can afford – on the battlefield, forming the order versus the enemy. After you place them all and press Start, all you have to do is watch, while your soldiers fight the enemy. See them approach and attack each other, with no option of retreat.

There are various sorts of units, from primitive to quite advanced and even magic. The categories include tribal warriors, civilians, medieval, Renaissance, pirate, and even spooky! Each of them requires some money for unlocking, and money is earned in battles.

It only features single-player modes so far. They include campaigns (from simple to complicated), a sandbox, and more. Of course, such a game would have been better with PvP. But playing versus an AI is fine too.

Controls 4/5

It’s a keyboard-and-mouse oriented game, but you can use a controller as well, for example, on Xbox. During the game, you can only control the camera with WASD buttons and the mouse, using Q and E buttons to rise or descend. And it makes sense to zoom in sometimes, not only to laugh over ragdolls funny moving but also to see various fractions interact.

Replay Value 4/5

Tactical games are fun to replay! While the initial what-the-battle-it-was feel wears out, you start to mind its strategic part. It is way deeper than it seems when you look at it: you may try more and more to find the right order, making it a puzzle rather than an action game. And yes, it’s interesting to return to your old levels with your new skills.

The Bottom Line

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator review cannot show all of its awkward and funny sides. It’s an intendedly rough and savage game that gets you laughing, no matter if you want it or not. No wonder it’s rated as very good, and it changed for the better since 2016.

Conclusion

It would have been better with PvP, but it’s still in Early Access. So why not install Totally Accurate Battle Simulator now and be ready for the updates? It’s quite playable and fun.
