Floor Plan Review ā€” See You Later, Elevator

Floor Plan is an indie puzzle game for PS VR. You're travelling from one floor to another in an elevator, which you never can leave. And nobody knows what bizarre or scary scenery will be revealed, after the doors open again. Solve strange riddles, enjoy surreal levels and get stuck once in a while. Download Floor Plan if you have a taste for games that play with you.

Graphics — 4/5

Floor Plan specs are minimalistic: its size is just 338 MB. That's why it looks like an epitome of an indie title. Rough graphics + nice sounds. But the game succeeds with its eerie and absurd levels. In one of them you'll see a snowy wasteland, in another a creepy cowboy robot, who'll try grab you with a bionic arm. And the level with a few occult statues sunken in lava makes you feel a bit uneasy. What if it's hell?

Gameplay — 4.5/5

Your objective in FP is to locate parts of a space suit, which is your lucky ticket out of this eccentric nightmare — perpetually going up and down in the elevator. The problem is you're never sure where searching must be done exactly. And you patiently go from one level to another, solving unusual puzzles.

The key to success here is to make the objects on various floors interact with each other. For instance, on one of the floors, you'll find a grumpy Snowman who's shaking with cold. On the floor below him, there will be a thirsty office plant that needs to be watered. And if you take a closer look, you'll detect a vent in the office... The answer to this equation is obvious.

But frankly speaking, not every single conundrum is as perfectly logical. Some of them make zero sense and you'll be forced to call for help: the elevator has the emergency button. After you push it, a friendly voice will instruct you what to undertake at the current moment of trouble.

Controls — 3/5

Your manipulations in the Floor Plan full game are limited to mashing elevator buttons and fiddling with various objects.  Sounds pretty simple. But empirically you'll encounter a certain amount of hardship: some items don't let you grab them, get broken or mysteriously disappear. As a result, you have to retry again and again.

Replay Value — 3.5/5

You will have to replay the game one way or another. Almost every player gets stuck on the 12th level at least once and then nothing happens — reboot is unavoidable.  But once you beat the game, you might want to give it another try: it encourages experimentation after all.

Conclusion

Our Floor Plan review finds this indie title a solid work, capable of providing you with 4-5 hours of idle brain squeezing. Some of its bugs are exasperating; but hey, it's fun for its price. And if you stumble upon Floor Plan for sale promo — snatch it. It won't be a regretful deal. At the moment Floor Plan costs $5.99.

Conclusion

Download Floor Plan and have this cursed flower finally watered. It isn't as hard as it seems at first..
