BeamNG.drive — Car Crash

BeamNG.drive is a car simulator for PC. It allows you to test various vehicles — from elegant sport cars to rusty buckets form the post-Soviet countries. Gain the full speed, wreck the brakes and see what a spectacle a slow-mo car crash can be. Download BeamNG.drive and hit the gas!

Graphics 4-/5

BeamNG.drive game isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Although, it has dramatically evolved over the last 5 years. But the rides you get to drive still lack the polygons to make them as stunningly photographic as Gran Tourismo or NFS machines.

But the visual roughness adds some charm. This game is about obliterating cars, after all, and the destruction animations work nicely. You get to savor the slow-motion cut scenes, in which a state-of-art auto turns into a bruised and disfigured pile of metal scrap.

Atmosphere effects of the latest BeamNG.drive update are on spot too. Now each car model has unique tire screeches. Driving over grass, asphalt or gravel, produces unique sounds as well. And each engine has its own character and noise pitch.

Gameplay 5-/5

Our BeamNG.drive review warns you: there’s no standard gameplay here. It’s a car sim and sandbox in one place. So, you have full freedom. Take a ride down a sunset-lit highway. Go Tokyo-drifting on the narrow city roads. Take your old gas guzzler to the canyons and orchestrate a dramatic car accident there. It’s all in your hands.

BeamNG.drive full game has an impressive car collection. Here you can try:

  • BMW 733i.
  • Porsche 911.
  • PantaRei Dante.
  • Koeningsegg Agera.
  • Mercedes-Benz G65.

This roster grows all the time. Apart from the official releases, the fan community also creates car models. Among them, you can find rare and exotic beasts: Russian Vaz-2107 is one of those.

Car-crashing is one of the gameplay pillars here. There are so many ways to smash your ride. Collide with another car on the wrong side of the traffic while squeezing every Mph out of the engine. Get rammed by a police Ford Victoria. Or stay on the road and wait until a tank-like truck turns your auto into a metal pancake.

Controls 5/5

BeamNG.drive has normal racing game controls. Basically, the WASD combination is all you need. The clutch is controlled via Shift. Toggling the ignition is assigned to V, lights are triggered with Alt + N, etc.

Replay Value 5-/5

BeamNG.drive isn’t diverse much. But rarely car destruction can be so enjoyable as it is here. So, there’s no guarantee you won’t want to kill 2-3 hours mutilating products of American, Japanese and European auto industry.

The Bottom Line

Download BeamNG.drive and take your killer machine down the highway to hell!

Conclusion

BeamNG.drive is a satisfying and enthralling sim. No other game takes such a meticulous approach towards wrecking autos. Although low-poly and fuzzy, there are still beautiful locations to see. There are powerful engines to start up. And cars to disintegrate..
